Overview of the Role
This is an opportunity to join the Process Development Group that is responsible for materials and process development for manufacturing in MEMJET and other technologies.

The requirements involve working with R&D and production to assure high quality, cost-effective products and processes. This position requires the following:

Specific Materials Requirements
Understanding of:

• Polymer and inorganic materials properties and applications.
• Adhesives in terms of their general polymer chemistry and processing.
• Surface treatment, as it pertains to cleaning, activation, wettability, adhesion.

Experience in:

• Materials applications.
• Characterization of materials.
• Materials processing.

Ability to:

• Develop test methods for mechanical, electrical, chemical and electrical properties.
• Investigate failure modes.
• Analyze data to present to peers and managers.
• Experience to seek and select vendors who are highly level technical and customer-oriented.
• Integration skills to work closely with diverse teams in R&D, EMS, Manufacturing.
• Willingness to listen, seek out internal and external expertise.
• Communication skills, including regular discussion with the teams, reporting into the database.
• Ability to work independently, expediently evaluate problems, resulting in solutions.
• Willingness to follow schedules, planning guidelines.

Educational Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D., at least 3 years of industry experience.
• Engineering with materials background.
• Strong interest in understanding fundamentals of materials.
