Procurement Project Manager

You will identify and develop raw material suppliers necessary for the manufacture of Memjet technology. You will qualify supplier capability and ensure alignment with Memjet manufacturing strategy, including establishment and negotiation of the supply agreements. You will assess and evaluate supplier performance, including supplier established cost reduction programs and initiatives.

Main Activities

  • Work with engineering teams to identify potential primary and alternate suppliers of raw materials, and consumables. Development of supply strategies.
  • Qualify suppliers and Manufacturing Partners (MP) using for example, questionnaires, site visits, audits and other less formal criteria to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Ongoing supplier performance evaluation including those suppliers who now deal direct with Manufacturing Partner (MP). Evaluation process is inclusive of the Manufacturing Partners (MP).
  • Negotiate supply agreements to ensure a robust and flexible supply chain that delivers value, quality and continuous improvement to all parties.
  • Assistance in the development of supply agreements and processes that are appropriate to the type and nature of the product or service being provided.
  • Planning, development and management of supplier and Manufacturing Partner (MP) forecasts.
  • Work with suppliers and Manufacturing Partners (MP) to resolve supply problems and material non-conformances, including mitigation of future recurrence.
  • Assist in preparation of documentation and work instructions necessary in a new business to support procurement activities.
  • Demonstrated experience and accountability in dealing with key supplier accounts, contract manufacturers or similar.
  • Negotiation skills and a proven application of those skills in the execution of your role.
  • A logical and practical approach to resolving supply related issues for materials, products or services.
  • Experience in the planning and control of materials or services within a manufacturing environment.
  • An understanding of product costing, and the elements required to build product pricing.
  • Experience in a material planning and procurement processes of a high technology product or process business.
  • Experience in managing materials within a high volume, high technology manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in working with ODM or third party contract manufacturing for the supply of finished product.
  • Supply chain business dealings with Asian based suppliers or customers. A demonstrable network of Asian technology vendors.
  • A total cost mindset, plus a track record of establishing cost improvement strategies and the delivery of resultant tangible benefits.
  • Exposure or accountability to the contract review process for the supply of material or services.
  • Familiarity MRP material planning parameters and their application to achieve an innovative supply chain that accommodates various business operations.
You will excellent Interpersonal abilities to work with the internal teams and form strong relations with partners. Have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

You should possess a Degree or equivalent in Material Planning / Procurement studies / APICS or similar studies and have negotiation skills training.
