The Test Engineer is responsible for execution of tests determine the quality and characteristics of the product/s. The Test Engineer also provides guidance and overview of remote test teams performing detailed testing of product.

Main Activities/Tasks

• Carrying out investigations/tests to determine product characteristics.
• Support System Engineers with product specification process.
• Conduct experiments as directed to assist in concept development of products.
• Identification of critical parameters/subcomponents for testing.
• Design of tests strategies, test equipment, test methods.
• Assisting development teams(software, mechanical and electronics) to execute tests to validate designs.
• Assisting development teams to reproduce and solve problems found during testing.
• Appropriate documentation/presentations related to the above activities.

Experience & Skill

• At least 5 years experience in either a development test or technical test role
• Proven experience in mechanical, embedded or electrical testing
• Detailed understanding of the processes involved in a development project from concept through to product delivery
• Ability to work closely with a group of technical teams specialising in different aspects of technology
• Ability to work in a mixed research and product development environment
• Ability to work in both “white box” and “black box” test regimes
• Ability to learn, understand, and identify critical elements of complex technologies
