QA Chip Manufacturing Technician / Engineer

Main Focus
The main focus of this role is to ensure the smooth production uptime of the automated handler including the Tx tester + Supervisor to provide volume required to support our customers for specific and specialised electronic component within Silverbrook. This specialised part is a key component of Silverbrook production assemblies and requires a dedicated process engineering & technical support resource to handle it.

Manufacturing Operations

Production Targets
Provide support for the day to day engineering activities to help the goal of the QA Chip Operations. The output coming from this operation requires close attention to timeline and volume targets, in order to satisfy both internal and external customers.

Production Process
Ensure that all systems work effectively with minimal downtime and that process issues are immediately resolved whenever they arise. Provide ‘poke-yoke’ solutions to prevent these issues from recurring.

Equipment Maintenance and Support
Adhere to established systems to respond to equipment failure with minimal downtime to production. Ensure preventive maintenance activities are performed as required. Ensure that recommended spares are procured in a timely fashion.

Security
A key feature of the QA Chip Operations is physical and electronic security. Although the design teams provide certain aspects of the security implementation, it is a function of this role to manage certain other aspects of the system security function (under the requirements from the QAI design team). To meet the requirements of this section, the successful candidate must provide two referees, pass a 100 point check and must not have a criminal record. It is also a requirement for the role to work within the security system to be successful in this position.

Skills-Essential

  • A proven ability to engage with the production of an Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) within a sophisticated manufacturing framework preferably obtained from a semiconductor test environment experience and previously working in the same capacity or in a supervisory role (Engineer's experience).
  • Interpersonal skills and abilities to communicate and work in a team environment amongst all levels of the organization. The ability to provide clear communication through diagrams, charts and written documents.
  • The ability to understand the QA Chip Operations’ Processes and the interaction of each detailed step.
  • An understanding of GR&R for equipment qualification and SPC techniques to monitor output yields. The ability to troubleshoot and approach issues in a systematic method.

Skills-desired

  • An understanding of high volume electronic assembly and test processes.
  • An understanding of issues relating to high volume manufacture.
  • An understanding and experience with IC manufacturing/test handling & measuring equipments.
  • An understanding of ISO (or AS) QA certification procedures.

Education
You should possess an Electronic, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree or an equivalent relevant experience in a high volume IC manufacturing company.

You must be willing to work on shifts and weekends.
