Main Activities/Tasks

• Understanding product requirements and the reason for them so that meaningful development and system tests can be developed.
• Creating and maintaining development and system level test plans.
• Executing test plans and documenting results such that problems can be reproduced.
• Creating and maintaining a database of system defects and prioritising them according to the importance that an end customer would give to them.
• Assisting development teams(mechanical and electronics) to develop tests to validate designs
• Assisting development teams to execute tests.
• Assisting development teams to reproduce and solve problems found during testing.
• External or Internal Product demonstrations.
• Reviewing product documentation against actual product capabilities.
• Appropriate documentation/presentations related to the above activities.

Experience & Skill

• A minimum of 5 year experience in either a development test or system test role
• Experience with deriving development test plans from both formal and undocumented requirements
• Mechanical Test Experience with respect to moving parts. i.e rollers, motors etc
• Detailed understanding of the processes involved in a development project from concept through to product delivery.
• Ability to work closely with a group of technical teams specialising in different aspects of technology.
• Ability to work in a mixed research and product development environment.
• Ability to see products in the way that our customers will see them which may be different to the way developers see them.
• Ability and willingness to write good documents
• Interpersonal skills and abilities to work in a team environment, and to work with external customers and vendors.

Desirable

• Experience with high volume manufactured products in a development environment.
